Sitges architecture, featured at 48h Open House BCN at the weekend
The 16th edition of the 48h Open House BCN architecture festival this weekend will once again include Sitges attractions, with 14 spaces open for visits and guided tours. Together with Barcelona, Sitges is one of the highlights of the event, which will also feature of the cities of Badalona, L’Hospitalet, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Joan Despí and Vilassar de Dalt.
On 25 and 26 October, 48h Open House Barcelona, the leading architecture festival for the Barcelona metropolitan area, is inviting all residents to take a new look at the buildings around us. This year’s edition with the theme “FEEL ARCHITECTURE”, focuses on exploring architecture through the senses.
Spaces can help us concentrate, stir up sadness or empower our freedom. Every little detail – an echo, a silence, a scent – creates an atmosphere that can shape how we feel. Some spaces put us at ease, while others are unnerving. The festival encourages us to pay attention to these sensations and rediscover our surroundings through the senses, because beyond its design or appearance, the true essence of a place is defined by how it impacts us.
Those interested in volunteering at the festival can still sign up at the 48h Open House Barcelona website. You can find all the information about the festival at www.48hopenhousebarcelona.org.
