In Octavi Intente's paintings there are people doing everyday acts such as shaving, buying movie tickets or wandering through an industrial estate. There are nuns asking for charity, toasted guiris in a xiringuito and a man with a wall clock at the bar of a bar. The images are strangely cinematographic, like something out of an Aki Kaurismäki film, and his characters have a solitary point and a comic one, as it happens in real life. The universe, close and at the same time strange, has something captivating and magnetic that makes you want to know more, to be part of it, to become friends.
