Together with Rémi Oswaldi and Joan Motera’s rhythmic base, these artists promise to offer an enjoyable concert full of energy, skill, and delicacy.

SUNDAY, 28TH APRIL
For the 6th edition, rain meant a change of plans on the Sunday, moving the concert by Peter Allen to the Casino Prado Suburense venue. We liked it so much, that this year we’re going back for an encore, first at midday with Lucien Barbarin and then in the afternoon with La Vieja Dixieland. We will continue to host the weekly jazz session at Utopia and we’ll finish off the party at the El Garrofer campsite.
LUCIEN BARBARIN & NEW ORLEANS JAZZ TRADITION
Place: Casino Prado Suburense
Lucien Barbarin is one of the most important figures and best trombonists for present-day traditional jazz. If "tradition" is defined by the inheritance of values and ideas from one generation to another, no one embodies the spirit of traditional jazz better than Lucien.
Nephew of the legendary drummer Paul Barbarin and cousin of celebrated guitarist Danny Barker, Lucien forms part of one of the families that has shaped jazz right from its earliest roots. He represents the best of a continuous musical tradition, one that continues to thrive. His powerful performances capture the subtle contrast of elegance and humor, which are at the heart of New Orleans traditional jazz.
JAZZ AT UTOPIA BEACH HOUSE
Location: Utopia Beach House
You can attend the jazz session at the Utopia Beach House every Sunday throughout the year. This Sunday will be dedicated to traditional jazz and open to all musicians who wish to participate.
LA VIEJA DIXIELAND, CLÁSICOS 3
Location: Casino Prado Suburense
La Vieja Dixieland, founded in 1980, is one of the most beloved jazz bands in Catalonia. This year they present us with their "new" show: Clásicos 3.
With Clásicos 3, the band wishes to show its perspective of classic themes, by classic artists, from classic jazz. Music that was made at the beginning of the last century and that, with the creation of new instruments, the discovery of new sounds and a special rhythmic mix, marked the beginning of modern music. With their own arrangements, they will give their own personal version of this music, fusing and overlapping authors such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Jelly Roll Morton with others who are not so well known, and who the band have a desire to rediscover.
END OF FESTIVAL JAM SESSION
Location: La Sínia Garden (Camping El Garrofer)
There will be a concert by Swedish duo Sven and Fredrik, presenting their album “Stride and Shine”, followed by a traditional jazz jam session that will be attended by some of the musicians from this edition of the Jazz Antic Sitges Festival.
