Sitgestiu 2020 has been reinvented due to the coronavirus pandemic to offer musical and cultural activities and experiences to get to know our heritage. Covid 19 safety measures and seating restrictions have made it necessary to move outside the museums and provide a wide ranging open-air line-up. From July 16th to August 25th, you can enjoy approximately twenty different activities in the Racó de la Calma (The Quiet Corner) and up on the Flat Roofs, which are largely unknown to the general public.

Sitgestiu 2020 will kick off on Thursday July 16th with a classical music concert in the Racó de la Calma (Cosmo Quartet 9:00 pm). At that same venue on Saturday the 18th of July at 7:00 pm there will be a contemporary dance performance by Sisu Coromina with Ivonne Navarro's piece 'El hombre liberado' ('The Liberated Man'). This event will also serve to inaugurate the exhibition 'El hombre desnudo'.  ('The Naked Man').

The line-up will also include a concert on Thursday July 23rd at 9:00 pm in the Racó de la Calma to commemorate the Sitges Old Time Jazz Festival, which could not be held this year due to the coronavirus. Continuing in the spirit of this event with unprecedented ensembles, 10 musicians will alternate on-stage to offer a repertoire of songs from the 1920s.

The following Thursday, July 30th, Blooming Duo will also perform at the Racó de la Calma at 9:00 pm. Outdoor opera will be scheduled this year on Friday July 31st at 9:00 pm in the Racó de la Calma. New this year, there will be an open-air film screening on August 2nd in the Racó de la Calma at 10:00 pm. 'Summer Hours' starring Juliette Binoche will be shown and also on the same day, but later on at 12:00 pm, fantastic genre short films will also be screened outdoors.

For those who love experiences, next August 4th will be the Full Moon Sunset at Maricel, Racó de la Calma, and the Maricel Complex starting at 9:00 pm.

On Thursday August 6 at 9:00 pm in the Racó de la Calma there will be a special event related to the Poetry Festival entitled 'With the Infinity Symbol'. It is a concert-recital with songs by Mazzoni on his guitar and the conversational and poetic complicity of Odile Arqué, Joan Duran, Anna Aguilar-Amat, Cèlia Sànchez-Mústich, Anna Bou and Laura López Granell.

The musical entertainment will continue on Friday August 7th at 9:00 pm in the Racó de la Calma with an innovative proposal 'El canto de la castañuela con ópera y zarzuela' (The Sound of the Castanet Singing with Opera and Zarzuela).

On Tuesday August 11th, the Stämpfli Foundation will be offering the activity 'Ronda de noche' ('Night Watch') to discover, under the stars of Sitges, how the historic center and contemporary art live together.

The classical concerts will resume on Thursday August 13th at 9:00 pm in the Racó de la Calma with a vocal recital. And on Tuesday August 18th at 9:00 pm at the Maricel Museum, there will be an Evening of stories, legends and histories. A tour of the museums by Josep Fornés. The tour ends with an explanation of the stars by the Garraf Park Astronomical Observatory on the flat roof of the Maricel Museum.
