Sitges will celebrate International Dance Day, which is celebrated worldwide on April 29. On the occasion of this commemoration, the Department of Culture of the Sitges City Council promotes and coordinates, with the support of entities, associations and spaces, a program of activities related to the world of dance from April 24 to 29 in different spaces of Sitges.

Under the name "Dansa Sitges", more than a dozen proposals have been programmed, including the traditional Open Bar for classical dance on Port de n'Alegre street (next to San Sebastián beach), demonstrations of local talent, open classes hip-hop, contemporary dance, online dance, classical dance, country, sevillanas, flamenco, among others.

The programming starts on Tuesday, April 24 with the proposal "Dance between books" at the Santiago Rusiñol Library that will allow you to see a sample of the Esplai de Danza Casino Prado and El Prado de Sitges Balla. This activity will also be scheduled on Thursday, April 27. In this same facility you can see the exhibition "Prado y Retiro: dos entidades en danza" installed in the entrance windows to the Santiago Rusiñol Library where you can see photographs, hand programs and more documentation related to the samples, festivals and dance shows that the Sociedad Recreativa El Retiro and the Casino Prado Suburense have historically hosted.

The Mercat Vell will be the setting on April 25, 26 and 27 for open classes of different styles and for all ages. The program will include the traditional classical dance open bar on April 28 at 6:00 p.m. on Port de n'Alegre street, next to San Sebastián beach. Subsequently, at the Prado Theater, at 8:30 p.m., the show Oblivivion by the Silvia Batet company can be seen. The following day, April 29, International Dance Day, the school demonstrations will take place in the Baluard de Vidal y Quadras. In the same space, in the afternoon, at 6:30 p.m., the show 'Solc' will close Dansa Sitges with a proposal that is a dialogue between dance and music from the Work of the Popular Songbook of Catalonia, with music created and played live by Arnau Obiols and danced by Esbart Ciutat Comtal.
