The Mediterranean Guitar Festival arrives in Sitges to offer concerts at the San Sebastián Chapel
Sitges’ musical offers have been expanded and this summer for the first time the town will be one of the headquarters for the Mediterranean Guitar Festival, dedicated to the classical guitar. The 17 scheduled performances will be held at the San Sebastián Chapel from June 14 to September 27. Artists like Tono Blasi, Ignasi Prunés, Marta Casas, 10 String Duo (formed by Marta Casas and Ignasi Prunés), Javier Gavara and Duo Saxo & Guitar consisting of Silvia Nogales & David Hernando will be performing in this incomparable setting. On June 14, 21 and 28, July 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2, August 9 and 16 and September 6, 13 and 27 at nine in the evening, this musical initiative will be offered at this emblematic venue that boasts a very special sound.
The Mediterranean Guitar Festival is held at ten different locations along the Coast of Barcelona (Calella, Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú), Costa Brava (Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Castelló d'Empúries, L'Estartit, Llançà and El Port de la Selva) and Costa Daurada (Coma-ruga) and includes a lineup, from May to October, with over one hundred concerts in churches and emblematic spaces on the Catalan coast and with the Spanish guitar as its center of attention, both as a solo instrument and in duets or quartets.
Tickets are priced at 10 euros and can already be purchased online via the festival's website: www.mediterraneanguitarfestival.com. They can also be purchased the same day of the concert starting at 8:00 p.m. at the box office. Children under 12 are granted free admission.
All concerts will take place on Fridays at nine in the evening and concert-goers will be able to access the San Sebastián Chapel starting from 8:30 pm.
