A cultural and fun programme at the International Bears Sitges Week

With more than 9,000 people expected to arrive from all over the world, from this Friday until 11 September we will be able to find a programme full of cultural and recreational activities.

In 2023, the International Bears Sitges Week offers a wide-ranging programme of cultural and leisure activities over eleven days. The event starts this Friday, 1st September, and will last until the 11th of this month.

Once again this year, the Town Council is collaborating in the organisation of the event, which is expected to bring more than 9,000 people to Sitges. The Councillor for Tourism, Brandon Jones, points out that "Bears Sitges Week is an event of special interest for the town, above all for the projection of Sitges, the positioning of the destination and for the economic impact it generates, as it allows us to maintain high employment at average prices that are higher than at other times of the year. Likewise, this international meeting allows us to support the LGTBIQ+ community and this is also very important".

As part of the Bears Sitges Week programme of official events, highlights include theme nights at the Bear Village, routes in various bars around the town and the usual meeting points on the beaches of Balmins, Bassa Rodona and Anquines, and cultural activities to get to know Sitges. The organisers encourage visitors to discover the museums, the traditional visit to the town's architectural and cultural heritage, excursions to the beach or the Garraf Park, among others.According to the organisers, Bears Sitges Week is now the Bear event with the greatest international projection. This international meeting, which according to data from the organisation in 2022 brought together 8,000 total attendees, who spent an average stay of 7 days and an average daily expenditure of 170 € (accommodation included), resulting in a total economic impact of 9,520,000 €.
