Can Milà: Your Trip to Sitges Starts Here

If you come to Sitges, the experience should be complete and genuine from the very first moment. That's why we recommend you start at our new visitor service office, located in the Can Milà farmhouse. Both inside and out, thanks its building and its contents, the visit is well worth your while. And what's more, you can now take a guided tour. Come on, what are you waiting for!?

Can you tell we're excited about the opening of our new home? The fact is that we really are. For starters, the place is a true gem. We're talking about the Can Milà farmhouse, of medieval origin (14th century), renovated with care and attention to detail and located at one of Sitges' main access points. An elegant, neo-Gothic venue with its mullioned windows and dressed in stone. Inside, coffered ceilings and functional warmth to share an initial immersion in the town's cultural, natural, and social heritage with you.

As you can see, we are extremely excited. In fact, we're so excited that we want to join you on a series of guided tours around our new facilities. The first opportunity will be on January 22nd at 12 noon. Anyone interested only has to sign up by emailing us at turisme@sitges.cat

To whet your appetite before getting underway, either with a guide or on your own (we are open Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm, and from 3 to 6:00 pm, and on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm as well), we will give you a little background on the what, the how and the why.

This new Can Milà visitor service center, which has been completely renovated and refurbished, includes an adjoining building that houses the offices of the Sitges Tourism Department. As we mentioned, the complex is located on one of the town's main access roads, which facilitates (and perfectly symbolizes) the welcome given to everyone arriving from all over the world. A formal welcome, but also with a strong background, because with this visitor service center we want to show you what Sitges is, why it is the way it is and what awaits you during your stay. In other words, we want you to leave Can Milà with the predisposition of someone who is about to discover one of the most special places in the Mediterranean.

During the guided tour you will be able to see the house's different rooms, including the first floor where the former owner of Can Milà, Josep Robert i Mestre, bibliophile, pharmacist, and producer of the famous Robert Malvasia wine, kept part of his book collection, one of the most important in the whole Penedès - Garraf region.

If you agree, let's head out into the garden. Yes, we have a garden. Big and beautiful. And local, very local, because its color and aroma are provided by diverse native species such as rosemary, mastic trees, thyme, and broom. In fact, the entire outdoor space has been conceived as a local biodiversity area to recover the native flora and fauna. So, apart from the plants, in the garden you will find feeders for wintering birds and shelters for birds, reptiles, insects and chiropterans. And you will also see Sitges Malvasia de Sitges vines, planted in collaboration with the Sitges Malvasia Interpretation Center (CIM) and the Celler Hospital.

As I said: if you come to Sitges, make a note of an essential first stop, which will orientate and stimulate you. We'll be waiting for you at home, we'll be waiting for you at the Can Milà farmhouse.
