Sitges consolidates its position as a leading destination in convention and business meeting tourism.  The results were obtained through the survey conducted by the Sitges Convention Bureau among its associates to identify the main trends in this sector. The figures show an increase in tourism of this type in 2025, compared to the previous year.

The MICE sector in Sitges increased from representing 25.87% of business in 2024 to 33.46% in 2025, becoming a central part of the destination economy. This weight stands out particularly in hotels and convention centres with 30.9%, and in spaces where events are held, reaching 36%. Agencies continue to lead the way in attracting events, while the corporate sector and associations grew too, a diversification that strengthens the competitiveness of the destination.

The Councillor for Tourism, Xavi Ripoll, explained that “the figures confirm the consolidation of Sitges as a competitive and attractive MICE destination, capable of generating economic activity throughout the year. The growth in congress and meeting tourism is also the result of collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as the option of offering quality experiences for visitors”. The Councillor added that “the combination of infrastructures, environment, cultural options and innovative capacity makes Sitges an ideal destination for professional events”.

Another notable trend is the strengthening of the town’s international position. Foreign tourism continues to gain more prominence, with the British market leading European countries that choose to organise their events in Sitges, while the USA and Canada are still the main drivers of this international projection. This growth is partly due to the wide variety of experiences that Sitges offers, such as the range of congress and convention options in hotels. Also worth noting are the unique spaces for holding events with more flexible formats and experiences for participants.
