Das Büro des Stadtrats organisiert nationale und internationale Aktivitäten, um die Stadt ganzjährig als Qualitätsreiseziel für Urlaubs-, Kultur-, Gastronomie-, MICE- und Premiumtourismus zu positionieren.

The Councillor’s Office for Tourism at Sitges Town Council continues to work to give the town visibility in key markets and strengthen its position as a leader for congress tourism, events, leisure, culture, shopping, gastronomy and quality experiences. Various promotion actions have been scheduled in October, such as attendance at professional forums, specialised fairs and media trips to introduce the range of tourism options in the municipality beyond the summer season.

 

In the realm of general promotion, the Councillor’s Office organised a trip to Sitges for specialised media from the UK, with the 64th Grape Harvest Festival at the centre of the experience, also coinciding with Catalonia, World Region of Gastronomy. The activity allowed British journalists from media specialising in tourism to discover the local cultural richness first hand and experience the authenticity of one of the town’s most representative celebrations. 

 

The office will also be attending professional meetings this month to strengthen ties and make new contacts with agencies from priority markets such as France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The office will also be taking part in UNIQUE from 10 to 13 October, an international event devoted to premium tourism, connecting destinations and companies in the sector with agencies interested in exclusive experiences and tailored trips. Midway through the month the town will also be taking part in PURE Spain, by Turespaña, bringing together travel and events agencies, plus French companies interested in discovering quality new destinations in the Spanish state.

 

The town’s programme devoted to promoting Sitges in professional congress tourism, the Sitges Convention Bureau, also attended the Global MICE Forum, specialising in the tourism of congresses, meetings and corporate events. The destination was presented before agencies and meeting organisers as an ideal destination for holding events, highlighting its infrastructures, communication and unique environment as values that set it apart.

 

The Sitges Convention Bureau will also be present at the Conecta One-to-One, a meeting with over 100 professionals from the events sector, where the bureau will promote the destination as an ideal space for meetings and incentives all year round. Finally, the bureau will be taking part in the Europe Congress from 19 to 21 October, an event centring on MICE tourism and focusing on foreign markets in southern Europe.

 

This set of initiatives forms part of the annual promotion plan for Sitges, which aims to maintain the destination active all year round and diversify its public goals and products, from holiday tourism to MICE, gastronomic, cultural and premium markets, strengthening the attraction of Sitges as an authentic quality Mediterranean town.
