Lovers of good food and wine will be able to enjoy the Sitges DO Penedès Gastronomy Trail from 6 to 28 November. Eight restaurants in the town are taking part in this initiative, which aims to promote local cuisine with menus specially conceived to pair with wines from 21 local wineries. This fifth edition is special as it is the first to be held after learning that the DO Penedès has become a world leader as the first DO in the world of wines with 100% organic grapes following this year’s grape harvest.

The restaurants taking part are: Eurostars Sitges 5*, Casa Hidalgo, La Fragata, Costa Dorada, Cal Pinxo, Hotel Casa Vilella, La Nansa and Tarantana. Places are limited and advance booking is required by calling each establishment well in advance, as places get filled quickly. One of the singular features of the route is that the wineries taking part in the suppers to promote each wine will be in charge of the tasting and pairing with each dish of the corresponding menu. This creates a very direct way of discovering the particularities and personality of each wine.

The Sitges DO Penedès Gastronomy Trail is supported by Sitges Town Council and the Sitges Hospitality Guild, the aim being to incentivise the sector and introduce quality wines paired with Mediterranean and marine cuisine.
