The presentation of Sitges Carnival 2026 featured the poster and the festival programme, in addition to the groups participating in Carnestoltes and the Carnival Queen, and a special remembrance of the fiftieth anniversary of the resumption of the street processions. This event will be one of the main features of this year's festival, as the Espai Joan Tarrida (Carrer de Joan Tarrida, 10-12) is hosting a commemorative exhibition and the Rua d’Antes (Carnival week Friday) will have a special set to commemorate these 50 years. The Espai Joan Tarrida filled up this afternoon when it hosted the presentation of the poster and the programme.

The designer of the Sitges Carnival 2026 poster is Lídia Estany, who sought to capture all the perspectives of the Carnival in an image which shows elements of feathers, fardo, xató ingredients and plenty of costumes. Anyone wanting to have a poster or programme can collect them while they last at the tourist office located in Plaça d’Eduard Maristany.

The colles, or groups, for His Majesty Carnestoltes (Érem Pocs) and Carnival Queen (La Salsa del xató) also featured in the Carnival presentation, The Érem Pocs members encouraged fellow citizens to attend the presentation of a comic this Saturday, where they will provide key clues in interpreting the story and setting surrounding the king of the festival this year.

A familiar programme of events

The Carnival 2026 events that were presented reflect the essence of the festival, in a programme where beloved traditions are the stars of the show. From Fat Thursday with the Arribo arrival ceremony to Ash Wednesday with the Enterro burial, Carnival Week will feature the Disbauxa parade on Sunday and Extermini parade on Tuesday as two of the highlights of the celebration, without overlooking the rest of events.
