Fugitive Songs, is a song cycle about people trying to escape lives that no longer make them happy. Across America, its characters leave behind broken relationships, frustrating jobs and familiar places, searching for freedom, connection and a chance to begin again.
Through a series of intimate musical portraits, the show explores the different reasons people run—and the uncertainty of what comes next. Some journeys are funny and unexpected; others reveal loneliness, disappointment and the fear of growing up or growing older.
Blending folk, pop and gospel, Fugitive Songs captures the tension between wanting to leave and needing to belong. Together, these stories form a portrait of restless lives, united by the hope that change is possible.
