A night out & party time
Performance in English
SYNOPSIS
Two pieces by Harold Pinter that explore, with sharpness and intensity, the social and psychological tensions of the late twentieth century.
A Night Out (1959) follows one night in the life of Albert Stokes, a timid young man trapped between a monotonous office job and the suffocating control of his mother. What begins as a simple evening out turns into a disturbing descent into vulnerability and personal conflict.
Party Time (1991) portrays a sophisticated, self-satisfied political elite enjoying a lavish party while, out on the streets, dissent is violently suppressed. A biting satire about power, indifference, and the fear of change.
Two works that reveal Pinter at his most incisive: intense, political, and profoundly human.
Recommended age: Not suitable for children under 14 years old.
