Sant Jordi 2023

Literary activities such as children's workshops, book presentations, storytelling, open doors at the Cau Ferrat Museum, sardanas, human towers, theater and a reading marathon, among others, have been scheduled around the Sant Jordi Festival.

Children's workshops / The mobile
Place: Escola Pia (C/ San Isidre, 19)

Manual and creative workshop. In this workshop, each boy and girl will build a mobile with a set of colored birds connected by threads or articulated stems, suspended in balance.

April 23 is Book Day and throughout this day, which is mainly spent in the street, we like to approach the stalls well decorated with the latest publishing news. Among all these books there is always one that attracts us: we take it, we look at it, we read the first few paragraphs... will we like it? In this talk, Elena Cejas will discuss what strategies writers seek to attract the reader's attention. What is the best beginning of a novel you have read?

Sitges en Vers XI, homage to Maria Mercè Marçal

In tribute to the poet Maria Mercè Marçal, who left us 25 years ago, Sitges en Vers organizes a session, in which there will be a performance by the pianist David Domergue, an audiovisual projection of Lluïsa Julià (the biography of M. M. Marçal), an intervention from Dr. Isidre Roset and a poetry recital by Magda Altabella, Eduard Herrmann, David Jou, Dolores Juan, Xavier Miret, Marc Montroig, Vinyet Panyella, Àngels Parés, Rosa Maria Puig, Anna Maria Rodá, Isidro Roset, Laura Sánchez.

Literary snack with the play "Abdicació"
Synopsis: A person wakes up in the morning, with his worries, consults books, we don't know very well what is going on until he receives a phone call and we learn that he must make a speech, that he is the king, the Little Prince, and that how every year, on his birthday, he makes an address to the population. The abdication is a monologue by Albert de la Torre about the end of the social paradigm of coexistence on which European politics and peace have been based since the end of World War II.
