Drawing whales and dolphins

Activity for children and families (from 6 to 12 years old) to raise awareness of the existence of cetaceans off the coast of Garraf and awaken children's curiosity towards the inhabitants of the marine environment by playing at drawing them with watercolours. The activity will combine the knowledge of the Association Cetàcea about cetaceans and the expertise of the illustrator Olga Molina in connecting learning and experiences with artistic expression.

When you draw a whale... do you draw a sperm whale or a fin whale?

When you draw a dolphin... do you get a shark?

Did you know that the Garraf coast is a marine area inhabited by important communities of cetaceans? Did you know that drawing and painting are very useful to help us observe and interpret nature?

With this painting workshop the Associació Cetácea will introduce us to its cetacean identification project and will explain many curiosities about how these fantastic marine animals relate to each other! And thanks to the Illustrator Olga Molina we will learn the watercolour technique to paint all the emotions that moves us to know that in the sea of our house live such impressive beings as dolphins and whales!

This activity is part of the Pasaporte Edunauta, a project promoted by Sitges Town Council, which works for equal educational opportunities outside the school environment.

Free activity with prior registration: registration form (you can register until Thursday 22 February).

Capacity limited to 25 people. Children must be accompanied by their mother, father or a guardian.
