From Sitges Museums and in collaboration with Sitges International Festival Fantastic cinema of Catalonia, a family workshop on fantastic genre has been prepared, specifically on the visual magic of optical effects. Girls and boys can create their own zoetrope from an animation inspired by the festival’s logo, the iconic image of the gorilla King Kong.

The zoetrope is a toy invented in 1834 by the English mathematician William George Horner which reproduces the illusion of cyclic movement. The piece consists of a circular drum and a strip with images of cyclic movement. When the drum is turned, looking through the holes reproduces the illusion of movement.

Free activity for children aged 6 to 12 from all schools in Sitges, with prior reservation on the website museusdesitges.cat or at the reception of the Museums of Sitges.
