Exhibition: ““L’Amic de les Arts” (1926-1929) Noms propis”

Documentary exhibition in the showcases of the Santiago Rusiñol library

“L’Amic de les Arts” was a cultural and avant-garde magazine published monthly in Sitges between 1926 and 1929 that is considered one of the most important publications of the artistic and literary renewal in Catalonia during the first half of the 20th century. This magazine published up to 31 issues and was directed by Josep Carbonell i Gener.

Among the editors of ”L’Amic de les Arts” are notable figures of the time such as J.V. Foix, Lluís Montanyà, Sebastià Gasch, Magí Albert Cassanyes and Salvador Dalí, among others.

The magazine played a key role in spreading the artistic and literary avant-garde in Catalonia, combining creation and criticism at a time of great cultural effervescence. It also had a slightly localist character where the avant-garde ideas of the time such as expressionism, cubism, surrealism, among others, were reflected.

In this exhibition you can see different books and documents that are part of the collection of the Santiago Rusiñol library.
