The Poetry Festival is a collective and intimate tribute to poetry and to those who make it. Every year six poets invited by the festival's curators and masters of ceremonies, Celia Sánchez-Mústich and Joan Duran, spend a weekend in Sitges where they will receive parties and honours of all kinds: verses will be recited to them from the balconies of the town, poems by them and others will be read, they will discover emblematic places and characters that have Sitges in their DNA and, in short, their life and work will be celebrated with anyone who wants to join the party.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS FOR THE 17TH SITGES POETRY FESTIVAL

Friday 5th

6 p.m. Reception of the Poets. Together with the band Suburband, the balconists Loreto Baqués, Valen Mongay, the actor Toni Sevilla, the actress Maria Molins and the writer and bookseller Iolanda Batallé. Artistic interventions, presentation of the Book of the Festival and a glass of cava.

Eduard Maristany Square and parade to the Town Hall.

10.30 p.m. Recital of poetic friendship between generations. With the young poets Pol Vouillamouz, Mireia Casanyes and Ismael Sempere, and musical performances by Santi Careta (guitar) and Alba Careta (trumpet and voice).

Golden Hall of the Maricel Palace.

Saturday 6th

10 a.m. Selected pleasures reserved for the guest poets.

12.30 p.m. Drawings at the spring. With children from the village who will offer artistic gifts to the poets. Afterwards, family photo and parade with Apocadixie.

Santiago Rusiñol Library.

13.30 p.m. Poets' lunch at El Retiro, with artistic after-dinner conversation.

El Retiro Assembly Hall.

19 p.m. "Captura d'ànimes" Show by La Tija.

Pia School Auditorium.

22.30 p.m. Closing recital by the guest poets. With a personalised concert by Les Kol-lontai, with Sílvia Comes, Ivette Nadal, Meritxell Gené and Valen Nieto.

Miramar Courtyard-Cultural Centre.

Sunday 7th

11 a.m. Visit to the poetic showcases. With the artists from the Núria Corretgé Workshop, the poets and the cellist, Claudia Romaní.

Start of the route at Carrer Major, 47 (Havgaard Disseny Nòrdic).

12.30 p.m. Poets at home and farewell.
