Sitges is set to become the epicentre of sea canoeing on Saturday and Sunday at Les Anquines beach, with the Sitges Surfski Festival, which this year includes the Catalan Sea Kayaking Championship, the most important event in this sport on the Catalan calendar.

Top canoeists will be competing in two races by the Sitges seafront on Saturday, 20 September: a short 7.5 km race (at 10 am) and a long distance race of 14.5 km (at 12 noon). Competitors will be setting off from the Cellerot beach and arriving at Les Anquines beach, allowing the public to enjoy the event from the seafront promenade.

The Sitges Surfski Festival aims to go beyond the competition and is conceived as a festival of the sea, open to everyone, organised by Nootka Kayak & SUP and the Catalan Canoe Federation, with the support of Sitges Town Council and Barcelona Provincial Council. In similar fashion, spectators will be able to enjoy free initiations in surfski and Hawaiian canoe on Saturday from 4.30 pm, and try out equipment from the best international brands in the sector. To participate in these activities, all you need to do is sign up in advance using the online form, or on Saturday morning at the Nootka Kayak & SUP tent, located in the festival Village.

Saturday concludes with a DJ session at the Acquabeach Club and a fraternal supper, while on Sunday the activities continue with a free surfski MasterClass and the spectacular Garraf Downwind, designed for beginners in this discipline.
