Accompanied by the organization Plastic Oceans, we will watch the documentary Out of Plastic made on the island of Mallorca and start a debate on the problem of plastic waste in the seas and oceans.

Then we will divide into 2 groups to collect the waste:

• From Terra, to the beaches of La Barra and Terramar. Suitable for all audiences and ages.
• From the sea, Nootka Kayak & Sup will provide kayaks to clean up debris from the sea. With limited places, the minimum age to sign up is from 12 years and previous experience in the use of kayaks and a good navigation technique are mandatory.

Hours and duration of the activity:

10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Screening of the documentary and debate.

11:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Short break and organization of the groups for litter collection on beaches and coves.

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Cleaning on foot and by kayak of the beaches of La Barra and Terramar and the coves of Sitges (special attention to microplastics).

All data collected will be analyzed and entered into the citizen science program Microplastic Watchers of Observadores del Mar.
