Set in 18th-century France, the film tells the story of Marianne, a painter hired to secretly paint the portrait of Héloïse, a young woman destined for an arranged marriage. In the isolation of the Breton coast, the two women will establish a relationship that will transform into an intense but contained passion. The film reflects on desire, female freedom and memory through the gaze and art. With a refined and emotional staging, it is a hymn to silenced love and the power of memory.
