Sitges is present at the FITUR on the stand shared by Barcelona Provincial Council, Turisme de Barcelona and the Catalan Tourism Agency; a space bringing together much of the professional activity of the Catalan tourist sector and where most of the planned meetings will be held.

During the fair, Sitges Town Council will be taking part in more than 20 professional meetings with different key stakeholders from the sector, including the Spanish Tourism Office (OET), the Catalan Tourism Agency, Turisme de Barcelona and Barcelona Provincial Council, plus other companies and institutions specialising in areas such as innovation, sustainability and tourist accessibility.

FITUR offers the chance to strengthen institutional coordination, explore new means of collaboration and identify trends and opportunities that can help consolidate the position of Sitges as a sustainable, innovative and accessible town.

Sitges is to receive the renewal of its DTI distinction this year, the Smart Tourist Destination programme launched by the Secretary of State for Tourism and headed by Segittur. The distinction accredits the work done by the municipality in the areas of sustainability, innovation, technology, governance and accessibility.

The presence at FITUR comes as part of the tourist promotion strategy for 2026 and gives continuity to the projects driven by the Councillor’s Office for Tourism, the goal being to consolidate a balanced and good quality model of tourism.
