Sitges Malvasia Week 2026 will take place from 1 under the slogan “Winning Hearts Across the Country”. The twelfth edition will offer ten days of food and wine pairings, educational sessions exploring the world of Malvasia, guided tours and other activities. The celebration highlights the growing recognition of Sitges’ native grape variety throughout the region, with more than 100 hectares of vineyards planted and over 35 wineries producing Malvasia across Catalonia. The initiative is organised by the Sitges Malvasia Interpretation Centre (CIM) and Celler de l’Hospital, managed by the Fundació Hospital Sant Joan Baptista, with the support of Sitges Town Council’s Departments of Culture, Economic Development and Tourism.
Journalist Jordi Eroles, born in Vilanova i la Geltrú and a great admirer of Sitges, will be the official ambassador for this year’s edition. A familiar voice on TV3 news programmes and in the Catalan Government’s External Action communications, Eroles represents the strong ties to the Garraf region, territorial cohesion and the talent to promote Malvasia’s heritage throughout Catalonia.
Malvasia Week will feature two fairs. The first will be the Sitges Malvasia Trade Fair, held on Monday, 16 November, at the Malvasia Interpretation Centre (CIM). The event will strengthen its educational focus and encourage the exchange of knowledge among producers, with the aim of consolidating the Malvasia Guild, a community that promotes collaboration between wineries, sommeliers, hospitality professionals, distributors and the press. The second event will be the Popular Fair, taking place on Sunday, 22 November, also at the CIM, where visitors will be able to taste more than 30 Malvasia wines in one location. The event will combine wine tastings with gastronomic offerings, family activities related to urban vineyards, live music and food and wine pairings.
One of this year’s main highlights will be the food and wine route “From Monembasia to Glass and Plate”, organised by Feten Wines in collaboration with the CIM. The programme will include 16 activities, ranging from dinners and wine tastings to food and wine pairings, with events in Sitges, Sant Pere de Ribes, Vilanova i la Geltrú and Cubelles. Another new feature will be a travelling wine-tasting experience at Sitges Municipal Market, where Malvasia wines will be paired with products from the market’s various stalls.
Over its twelve editions, Sitges Malvasia Week has become a meeting point for discovering, preserving and celebrating the history of a unique grape variety that survived thanks to the Llopis legacy and the work of the Fundació Hospital Sant Joan Baptista in Sitges. Today, Sitges Malvasia is experiencing a remarkable moment in its history: from the original vineyard plot that ensured its survival, it has expanded across Catalonia, while remaining true to its roots in Sitges.
Tickets for the various activities taking place during Sitges Malvasia Week 2026 are available through the Entrápolis website.
