The Barcelona-Sitges International Vintage Car Rally celebrates its 69th edition

The 69th edition of the Barcelona-Sitges International Vintage Car Rally, organised by Foment de Sitges in collaboration with the town councils of Sitges and Barcelona, will take place over the weekend of 3 and 4 April. Returning to its usual spring dates, the event will once again bring together vintage vehicle owners and enthusiasts at one of the most renowned events on the international historic motoring calendar.

Saturday will be devoted to preparations and an exhibition of the participating vehicles, while Sunday’s programme will feature the rally route connecting Barcelona and Sitges. The convoy will pass through several towns in the Baix Llobregat area before travelling along the Costes del Garraf coastal road.

One of the distinctive features of the Barcelona-Sitges Rally is that only cars manufactured up to and including 1928 and motorcycles manufactured up to and including 1938 are officially eligible to participate. The 2027 edition will be the last in which cars less than a century old can take part. From 2028 onwards, all cars admitted to the event will have to be at least 100 years old. In this way, the rally reaffirms its commitment to preserving automotive heritage

Dress code is also an important part of the event’s tradition. Drivers and passengers are required to wear clothing appropriate to the period of their vehicles, helping to enhance the social character and historical atmosphere of the rally

The rally organisers will soon open registration for the 69th edition. As in previous years, the registration process will be divided into three phases, with progressively higher fees, allowing participants to benefit from a lower rate if they register early.
