Sitges wants to continue consolidating itself as an enogastronomic destination and is launching new actions to achieve this goal. The revival of the Sopar de Tast on 25 April in the gardens of the Casino Prado is one example. A total of 14 establishments will take part to offer gastronomic proposals as part of a fun and festive event to celebrate spring and as a prelude to the start of the tourist season. The cost of each ticket will be 25 euros and will include 4 tastings and 2 drinks.

The restaurants taking part in this year's event are: Cal Pinxo, Fragata, Cañateca, La Oca, Catering Simpatic, La Sitja (Benaprès School), Cau del Vinyet, Mare Nostrum, Corazón de Agave, Tres Nudos (Port of Sitges), El Pop, Sintesis, Eurostar Rest. La Punta and Sofía by PicNIc.

The tastings that will be served can be paired with wines from Celler del Hospital and Massís del Garraf wines, in collaboration with the Centre d'Interpretació de la Malvasia de Sitges and with the support of Feten Wines.

In parallel, from 25 April to 21 June the Club de Tast Passport will be launched to rediscover Sitges from a gastronomic point of view through the participating establishments.

History of the transition from Menjar de Tast (1985-2011) to Tasta Sitges (2012-2017) and to Sopar de Tast (2024)

On 17 March 1984, the Sitges Hotel and Catering Guild organised the 1st Menjar de Tast, with several establishments taking part. This event prompted the creation of the Club de Tast with the aim of promoting local gastronomy.

The Club de Tast was set up in the same year (1984) with the support of professionals and the specialised press who praised Sitges cuisine. Among the first initiatives was the creation of the Gastronomic Passport, which was very well received.

For 27 years, until 2011, the Menjar de Tast was a popular event, a reunion and a season opening or closing event, depending on whether it was held in spring or late summer, at which El Club de Tast promoted the gastronomy of Sitges.

Adapting to the times transformed the Menjar de Tast and from 2012 to 2017 the Tasta Sitges was held, an initiative in which different establishments offered half portions of their specialities, giving the general public the opportunity to visit the best restaurants in the municipality. Generational changes and replacements in the Club de Tast, and a pandemic in between, have interrupted this event that now returns renewed but maintaining the spirit of its origins to rediscover the gastronomic offer of the town

The legacy of Menjar de Tast, which began with restaurants such as La Nansa, El Mascarón, Los Vikingos, La Masia, El Picnic and many others, founders of the Club de Tast, now continues to combine tradition and innovation. This recovery also includes the return of the gastronomic passport.
