The third edition of the Sitges Queer Fest lands in Sitges from 27 September to 1 October

Music, theatre and dance micro-performances, talks, a mini-artistic and queer craft market, a special Sitges Queer route, concerts and the Colors Queer Talent Show competition are some of the activities programmed.

From 27 September to 1 October Sitges Queer Fest offers a wide-ranging programme of artistic expressions to give visibility to the diverse realities that make up the LGTBIQ+ collective. The LGTBIQ+ Colors Sitges Link Association, with the support of the Sitges Town Council through the Civil Rights and Culture departments, present the third edition of this cultural proposal from a queer perspective that aims to consolidate itself as a benchmark queer cultural festival.

For the second year in a row, the Mercat Vell in Sitges becomes the main venue for the Sitges Queer Fest. From Friday 29th in the evening (6pm) until Sunday 1st October, this space will be transformed into a queer culture and crafts market. It will certainly also take in other spaces such as the Palace of the Moorish King, the Cemetery of San Sebastián and the 7 Bar.

The Sitges Queer Fest kicks off on Wednesday 27 September at the 7 Bar with Ka(t)raoke, an LGTBIQ+ Karaoke in Catalan organised especially for this festival by the LGTB group Saca la Lengua. The following day, Thursday 28th September, the writer and poet Adelaida Guasch presents her first novel, "EstrellaDa Vida", at the Palau del Rei Moro. On Friday 29th, the official opening of the Sitges Queer Fest festival will take place at 9pm at the Mercat Vell with the show "Queer Varietés", a festival classic that brings together artists from different disciplines. The master of ceremonies for this event will be the actress and comedian Vidda Priego. During the event, there will be a performative dance performance by Labitti, monologues by Juan Carlos Uríszar and Natàlia Domènech, the micro play "Despedida" with Laura Freijo Justo and Inma Rodríguez Solan, the Drag King Don Amor, and the presentation of the group Frank's White Canvas.

Saturday, 30 September, will be full of activities. Starting at 11 am, the special walking route through the history of Queer Sitges will begin with the meeting point at the San Sebastián cemetery. At the same time, visitors will be able to explore the craft stands and queer artists displaying their work at the mini craft market in the Mercat Vell. This will be followed at midday by the Vermut PoeticQueer, which will showcase new voices on the irreverent poetry scene while the public enjoys a vermouth with rhapsodists such as Alice Agostini, Trizas de Papel, Laura Freijo Justo, Germán Chocero, La PerritaIntergaláctica, Andrea Cacace, Santiago Callejas and Josep Rod. Elisa Lein will present this poetic coven to discover the talent of LGTBIQ+ poetry. In the afternoon, the artist Tádgh Ar C'Hoat, from the company Clancarakol, presents his storytelling show Cuentajuego para la libertad for the youngest.

Music will also be present on Saturday night with two concerts: King G, artist, rapper and non-binary activist presents her latest work 'EXPLICIT' and the rock band Frank's White Canvas, who play for the first time in Catalonia after their European tour. The festival will close on Sunday, 1 October with three events: the colloquium on the objectification of bodies, moderated by sexologist Lorena S. Gimeno, from Sexualizados, with the participation of journalist Rocío Vidal, sex educator Nal Anahi Canela, and drag queen and illustrator Barda Petarda.

The singer Vichy Branch, known for her participation in the television programme La Voz, will perform a tour of Motown's greatest hits in the Mercat Vell at midday. As is traditional, the festival will culminate with the final of the Colors Queer Talent competition.

Now in its third year, this event has become a showcase for queer talent, not only from the contestants, but also from artists whose extensive careers collaborate with the Sitges Queer Fest project, like Adrián Amaya, Hugo Marlo or the television personality Pablo Wessling.
